ACNL had been out for maybe 4 years at that point and we wanted an AC switch title, but we understood this early into the console’s life wasn’t reasonable. It’s harmless and it wasn’t some hyped up thing we were all pining for. Screenshots of Pocket Camp will get upvoted to front page once a week or so and it’s generally accepted as just a silly spinoff. It scratched the itch of the pretty big majority of the fan base that plays the games as a chore simulator.Įven now, most don’t care about it either way. Yeah, it was another build your base mobile game, but I didn’t feel burned out or betrayed because of it. I played for maybe a week before realizing I didn’t feel any sort of progression, so I deleted it and haven’t looked back. It had amazing presentation and still constant support a year later, but people just didn’t care. Was there any backlash over Pocket Camp? I’m as diehard of an AC fan as possible, and I only remember the reception to Pocket Camp being a solid “meh”. It's fine to branch out into other markets and appeal to more customers but doing it on their big fan event as the one last thing and not addressing any of the concerns/hopes is just ridiculous. Actually Diablo Immortal looks like a reskin from one of their existing mobile rpg brawlers. Even worse, they are not even developing it on their own, it's outsourced to NetEase, known for developing cheap P2W mobile games in China. announced a fucking mobile game in front of their loyal fanbase. Diablo 3 lead designer comes on stage, praises Diablo and the community around it and then. Diablo was the last thing at the Opening Ceremony. During the opening ceremony they announced Warcraft 3 Remaster so Diablo Remaster was off the table. They invite their fans once per year to reveal all their upcoming content. Fans were expecting Diablo 4, Diablo 1 or 2 Remaster, new expansion or atleast a new character for Diablo 3 or something about the Diablo Netflix series.

Earlier this year they hyped everyone up with the statement that they have "multiple Diablo projects in the works" and that they "will share some of that later this year". Diablo 3 is 6 years old at this point and basically runs on life support. The community has been starving for any new content for years. Copying my answer from somewhere else in this post:ĭiablo is one of the big franchises from the developer Blizzard.
